The Days of May

In the midst of blooming peonies, we are busy planting the garden with many summer lovelies!

May Flowers Brought to You By April Showers!

Tomato and pepper varieties, yellow squashes of summer, and those beautiful round zucchini from Provence.

Around C'est si Bon! we note the apple tree is set with apples, bushes are bursting with raspberries and blueberries, and the figs are ready to rock and roll.

The new season of programs has begun.

Won't you join us?

Just as cold in Birmingham as Vail

Believe me, we thought we were headed towards warmer climes as we shot out of chapel hill and hurdled -- okay, meandered, towards the south and sweet-home-for-three-days Alabama.

First thing we saw at the rest stop were great piles of shhh.. snow.  and it was cold! Had we missed a turn somewhere and were back in gulp, Colorado?

We checked in and ate pie at cosmos pizza at Five Points and enjoyed talking with an Aretha look-alike who clued us in to the Blues Band playing back at our hotel.

The next morning we stumbled upon a Strawberry Fields-ish dream. chaffin's Carousel Carving school at Five Points. we walked up a very steep hill and down another, passed the University Hospital and the University of Alabama at (you guessed it) Birmingham, eagerly anticipating the Food Blog South Conference.

We headed back to Five Points and lunch and waited for the next day to begin.
