c'est si bon! team building classes work with the goals of your
team to achieve your desired results. what more delicious way to
gain this knowledge than through the culinary arts!
within our corporate cuisine team building agenda, we offer three
approaches: a culinary collaboration, the iron chef experience or
the gourmet basket.
"I've been waiting for my team to get back to me with their comments
from our wonderful C'est si Bon Cooking Event, but I guess they're
all back into the grind! Besides myself, which you know how perfect
I thought everything was!, following is a comment from one of
my team members:
'This was one of the best team building activities I have participated
in. I don't cook, at all, so I was a little nervous, but it was
fun! I also learned about a new wine and overall it was a great
experience.'
Thanks again Dorette!"

a culinary collaboration achieves goals
through the use of food preparation. your team will create both
an exquisite seasonal meal and a focused driven team. food is
the great door opener; it melds and builds rapport while learning
experientially the following concepts.
communication skills
collaboration
cooperation
commitment
leadership skills
groups range from 10 – 25 (depending on the season). any skill
level is appropriate.
"Hi Dorette. I got this message from one of our PELA participants
and thought you would be interested. Your cooking program continues
to be one of the most highly rated parts of the PELA program for
the very reasons cited in this article*. It looks like you are
part of a growing trend in team building training."

fits into a busy conference schedule—day or evening, a
reward for a team’s past efforts.
the program begins with a brief orientation of knife skills and
safety, and outlining outcomes for the day. next, the group as
a whole is divided into teams responsible for their own part of
the meal. the teams then work with basic seasonal raw ingredients,
and with an outcome to guide them creates delectable, visually
gorgeous courses of food.
after we have enjoyed our creations, teams meet and discuss what
they have learned and how to apply these concepts immediately.

the iron chef experience adds a well-spirited
(and beneficial!) competition to spice things up. participants
will feel empowered, successful and exhilarated. this type of
experience builds teams while inspiring them to achieve. with
the addition of individual teams competing for various awards
that personify their respective accomplishments, this approach
magnifies results. this is recommended for teams that have experienced
the first level of team building and desire a new perspective
or to inspire teams to be more effective.
“My little group really enjoyed their Iron Chef experience—they
were still talking about it at dinner last night. You were the
"hit" of the day! The entire experience was so much fun! And,
rather surprising. I think we all were amazed with what we were
able to cook in such a short time. Even more surprising, we didn't
kill anyone . . . the combination of sharp knives and under-cooked
chicken with this group has kept me up many nights . . .
It was really nice of you and your fellow judges to find a category
for each group to "win." When I told the group what we were going
to do for our team building yesterday morning, I saw absolute
"fear" in some of their faces. Winning a category made everyone
feel special. That, and the fact that we didn't get sick after
eating . . .
I don't know about the others, but I'm actually going to TRY
to cook at home now. The sauce was fantastic—and it wasn't at
all difficult to make. This, coming from a woman whose idea of
cooking is stopping by the local Whole Foods and getting take
out . . .
Thank you for making our team building so much fun!”

by far the most challenging teambuilding event we offer
is the gourmet basket. participants will create
a gourmet meal from a seasonal selection of produce, prime meats
and poultry, condiments and comestibles. this excursion into the
kitchen is based on the master chef exam at many of the nation's
top culinary institutes.
opportunities for creativity and problem-solving are the key
elements tested while building of team strategy, competent communication
and negotiation skills reach their peak in this exercise.
fees begin at $125/person for any of these programs.
now available—add on option of a blind wine tasting! we work
with each team to make it uniquely yours. write dorette to discuss
