Europe for Families
Europe for Families
There is no place better suited for all family members than the countryside of Southwest France, Gascony. The rustic and rich tastes of this part of the world exist within prunes, apples, duck, mushrooms, chestnuts, and pumpkins, but also within its people, who above all cherish the kitchen and family! On this trip, you can expect to truly recognize the power of gathering around the table. We’ll fully engage in the French cultural experience by taking daily walks through the village to shop in local markets and practice the French language. In the afternoons and evenings, we’ll learn new cooking skills and embrace new friendships around the dinner table. The dining experience alone acquaints members with paired wines at the loveliest restaurants in town—while teens enjoy learning how to make puff pastries right alongside their eager companions!

WHO’S JOINING THE ADVENTURE?
Pre-teens and teenagers (ages 8-17), parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles or family friends are invited to join us on this adventure! You’ll grow closer together while meeting other families with passion for culture, cooking and travel. Our lead instructors are Dorette and Rich Snover, the husband-and-wife couple behind the highly applauded C’est Si Bon! Cooking School in North Carolina. Their talented son, Erick Snover joins Kayla Telles as chef guides for our family travelers. A highly trained executive chef in Vail, Colorado, Erick specializes in Japanese kaiseki cuisine. He loves introducing people of all ages to the world of European cuisine and traveling extensively for 2-3 months a year to experience other cultures and cuisines. Kayla is a talented culinary conoussieur who is passionate about educational and cultural experiences for young people and their mentors. She is also a licensed EMT with advanced training who loves to teach teen programs in the Vail area, where she has also worked in sports medicine. Her medical background gives us all wisdom and comfort. We are thrilled and honored to have such a talented, family-oriented Taste the Adventure team! A minimum of 6 travelers are needed for this trip to run (and we keep things personalized with a maximum of 13 travelers).
