OVERVIEW

Since 2004, the C’est si Bon! Cooking School has led small, intimate teen groups of 4-6 students through a sensory-awakening, out of the box, educational and challenging European taste adventure. You’ll start life-long friendships while learning new travel and culinary skills while searching out the world’s finest foods to make your own. But this is more than cooking. Our fun-filled and powerful curriculum encourages teens to expand their knowledge of international cuisine and culture, and exploring by foot, bike, and other active means where exactly they have landed. Our mission is to empower the next generation and generations to come with the skills and confidence needed to passionately travel, connect, find and fulfill their life mission and shape the world around them. A SUMMER EXPERIENCE TO REMEMBER

What you may encounter during the journey. Let Gascony or Saint Germain en- Laye enchant you with her cuisine and charm you with her sunflower-filled landscapes and rich royal history. On this European summer adventure for teens, your hands will acquire the culinary sense necessary to shape and craft French cuisine while your mind indulges in the rich surrounding culture. There are countless adventures to be had in these new worlds of thought and experience. Explore the French countryside on horseback or the center of town to the markets. Take to European waters in Gascony, or Horse Back riding through beautiful fields. Combine the sensory experience of European cooking and dining with your growing confidence to make your world your own. You'll select fromage and plums in a French market, to cook together in the kitchen. Get lost, and found, in the feeling of exploration of culture and all its flavors.

A TASTE OF YOUR DAYS IN EUROPE

Our adventurous teen travelers enjoy a week (travel days included) in France, flying into Paris and then training south to the gorgeous rolling hills of Gascony, Southwest France or taking the train through tIle- de - France Region North central France  in a beautiful western suburb Saint Germain en- Laye. From bustling markets to fields of sunflowers in Gascony, or over looking the sien our teen adventurers gain a broad and rich understanding of country French cuisine, culture and life. Teens experience new flavors while within food market exploration. We integrate a farm-to-table methodology with an emphasis on seasonal offerings, local authenticity, and friendship-building across cultures. Through this experience, teens learn and celebrate the gifts of producing and cooking food in community.

A Day in Gascony or Saint Germain en- laye France
In Gascony or Saint Germain en Laye, you’ll become part of the daily pace of a French village and steep yourself in the culture that brought the Three Musketeers story to life. We’ll start our mornings with petit dejeuner, local market shopping and preparation for afternoon picnics. More active mornings may include a horse-back ride through King Henri’s forest, and canoeing down the calm waters of the Ancient Gelise River. Exploring the royal castle gardens in Saint Germain en - Laye. To their elaborate market in the center of town surrounded by patisserie, boulangerie. Each evening, we return to our welcoming chateau to, relax by the pool, learn delicious recipes, and gather around the table for warm conversation and reflections on the day.

WHO'S JOINING THE ADVENTURE

Join a small group of4-6 teens aged 14-17 for our European culinary travel adventures! You’ll meet other teens with passion for culture, cooking and travel. Our lead guides and instructors are Erick Snover and Abbie Nichols, of the highly applauded C’est Si Bon! Cooking School in North Carolina. Erick is an excellent chef guide for our teen travelers. A highly trained executive chef in Vail, Colorado, Erick specializes in Japanese kaiseki cuisine. He loves introducing teens to the world of European cuisine and traveling extensively for 2-3 months a year to experience other cultures and cuisines. We are thrilled and honored to have him on the team of Taste the Adventure. 

ACCOMMODATIONS  (allowing 2 days of Travel)

Accommodations in Gascony / Poudenas looking over Chateau de Poudenas in adjacent to Sunflower fields. 

Accommodations in Saint Germain en- Laye - Villa -(details will be shared upon booking)
